Teaching

Supporting the Manufacturing Industry Through Job Training

We believe in supporting the middle class by teaching people the skills they need to work in the manufacturing industry. We accomplish that goal by providing hands-on training to help makers learn manufacturing techniques and trade skills. We have individual, group, and pre-apprenticeship training, and are happy to work with you to meet your needs.

Training Classes

We offer small classes that target the specific skills needed to operate manufacturing equipment and facilities. Our partner member, The Tech Toybox, offers hands-on experience with real-world development projects for those interested in learning the invention and development process

Apprentices

Apprentices receive three months of intensive, hands-on pre-apprenticeship training in fundamental shop and workplace skills, followed by placement in an apprenticeship position for one year of on-the job training with a regional manufacturing employer. At the end of the program, they will be an active manufacturing employee with a regional company. .

Interns

Three-month internships are available for anyone high-school age or older who would like to learn how to operate a variety of tools and techniques with hands-on experience working on developing new inventions and products. For exceptional leaders from the basic intern program, we also offer a three-month project leader, teaching, and management internship.
